  1. This painting was inspired by the song "Fool on the Hill" by the Beatles. It's the only painting I've ever done inspired by the Beatles.

  2. The subject is serene, yet oblivious to the disjointed beauty around him. The mix of various celestial bodies: the sun, the super nova and other planets- a scene that is scientifically not possible- is suspeneded in the background with a tree. The lethargic subject, who is obviously in a drug induced stuper, using the ground as his bedtime comforter, seems to have total disregard for the the proper roles and order of nature, and society in general. He is oblivious to his surroundings and appears to have no cares in the world or sense of responsability- to his own peril. I don't think I recall the refernce to that particular Beetles song, but wasn't the 60s an era known for its rebellion against order and drug useage.
